1851 DOC HOLLIDAY August 14, 1851, Griffin, Georgia - John Henry Holliday is born. He was born in Griffin, Georgia, but raised in Valdosta, where he spent his early years before becoming a dentist. 1887 1872 1872 DOC HOLLIDAY 1872, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - Holliday graduates from the Pennsylvania College of Dental Surgery. After obtaining his degree, he moved to Atlanta to practice dentistry. 1851 1873 1873 DOC HOLLIDAY 1873, Atlanta, Georgia - Shortly after starting his dental practice, Holliday was diagnosed with tuberculosis, the disease that had killed his mother. After a violent incident, he moved to the Dallas, Texas area where he continued to work as a dentist for a time. 1872 1881 1881 DOC HOLLIDAY October 26, 1881, Tombstone, Arizona - Participation in the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral. This gunfight is one of the most famous events in the American Old West, and Doc Holliday played a significant role as a friend of Wyatt Earp, fighting alongside the Earp brothers. 1873 1887 1887 November 8, 1887, Glenwood Springs, Colorado - Doc Holliday dies of tuberculosis. After years of battling the disease, he spent his final days in a hotel in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, seeking relief in the reputed healing waters of the area but ultimately succumbed to his illness. We journey cross-country to seek out truths about the crimes leveled against him, his personal relationships and the final years of his life. It’s a story of the effects of the Civil War on a southern family. A story of scandal, of first love and lost dreams that turned a Southern boy into a Western legend.
